What happens when a reader clicks a newsletter Quiz answer?
With linked email answers, a reader’s choice opens the Quiz in a browser. Atrivial carries the selected answer into the Quiz, shows the result for a trivia question, and lets the reader continue.
For example, your newsletter asks which city is known as the Eternal City. A reader clicks Rome, opens the Quiz with that choice selected, sees the answer result, and continues to the remaining questions. The full game takes place in the browser.
Where does an email answer take the reader?
By default, the answer opens an Atrivial-hosted Quiz page with your branding. If you have configured My website as the play destination, the reader goes to your page containing the embedded Quiz instead.
A direct Quiz link starts the experience without selecting an answer first. Both paths are useful: linked answers let someone begin from the email, while a plain link works when your newsletter editor cannot accept the question’s HTML.
Does the entire Quiz run inside the email?
The linked-answer format uses the email as the starting point. Answer feedback and the rest of the Quiz appear on the destination page. A poll records an opinion rather than marking an answer right or wrong.
Email appearance depends on the reader’s inbox. Hover effects may be simplified or absent, so keep answer labels readable and test the delivered email. Kit users can follow the setup guide for its native Quiz block.
Can readers play on my website?
Yes, with Business or Enterprise. Add the Quiz embed to a public page, approve your domain in Atrivial, and set that page as the Quiz’s play destination. Test a complete playthrough on desktop and mobile before using the link in a newsletter.
Installing an embed and selecting a destination are separate steps. The hosted Quiz page remains a useful starting option while you prepare your website.
What should I test before sending?
Send the newsletter to yourself from your actual email provider, then follow an answer link. This checks the delivered email, including any changes your provider makes to its links or HTML.
- Confirm that the featured question and answer choices display correctly.
- Click an answer and check that it opens the intended page with the matching choice.
- Finish the Quiz and check the result screen and any sponsor link you enabled.
- Repeat on a phone, especially if readers will play on your website.
